In September 2006 I started a Home Boarding and Dog Walking Business which all came about
after being a foster carer for Westie Rescue. Often I was helping
these rescue dogs regain their trust in humans and at other times I was just looking after them, giving them a home in which they could
relax and be themselves, before going on to a forever home.
However, I needed to find answers for some of the behaviours I was seeing. I didn't want to
use 'gadgets or force' as that was the last thing they needed! After attending one of Jan Fennell's seminars a friend of mine bought me the book
'The Practical Dog Listener'.
Wow!! I had found what I was looking for, Amichien ® Bonding.
The book was very interesting and answered so many questions but I also wanted to ask
lots too. So the next thing was to enrol on one of Jan Fennell's courses.
I now hold
both Foundation and Advanced certificates in Canine Communication.
Why I decided to teach Amichien Bonding
I made a choice to teach and work with my dogs using a non-confrontational method, Jan Fennell’s way ‘Amichien Bonding’. I want my dogs to respect me and to do as I ask because they want to, not because they are forced to.
